Poke (poe-keh) is a Hawaiian dish made with sashimi grade fish, Japanese seaweed, onions and seasonings. Ahi Poke, made with ahi tuna, is one of our favorite dishes and whenever we visit Hawaii, our first stop is for a plate of delicious poke. On the island of Oahu, Gordon Biersch at Aloha Tower has good poke and if you sit on the patio, you get a view of the working harbor. On the island of Maui, we beeline for Mama's Fish House for their version of poke. . . and of course the view from the restaurant is breathtaking!
