KNITTING PATTERN for Honu Socks - Charted Colorwork Sock pattern - digital download
$3.99
**NOTE: This is for the KNITTING PATTERN, not the socks themselves**
This listing is for the Honu Socks Pattern, a toe-up, charted, colorwork pattern using 2 circular needles and is great for pairing two solid colors or one solid with a variegated yarn.
About the pattern:The Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle or “Honu” is a symbol of good luck, long life and perhaps even a guardian. The inspiration for these Honu Socks is a brushstroke painting that my artist husband created in 2007. He was thrilled to see his ‘honu’ knitted on a pair of socks!
Available in Medium and Large width, this colorwork pattern uses 2 fingering weight yarns on 2 circular needles in a charted pattern. Suitable for intermediate sock knitters familiar with sock construction and colorwork/stranded techniques.
- Needles: Two circular 2.75mm needles or whichever size to achieve gauge. (I used 2 - 16" circulars)
- Yarn for Medium: One 50 gram ball of fingering weight yarn in a Main Color, and one 50 gram ball in Contrast Color.
- Yarn for Large: Two 50 gram balls of MC, one 50 gram ball in CC.
Pattern includes color charts for the instep and foot. The pattern is a downloadable digital file in .pdf format.
